If you'v ever been/lived/heard of Islamabad, you'd know the silent rumbles of the city,in the quiet and dark of the night, there's even stillness in broad daylight---nothing you could and probably should compare to Lahore or Karachi.
While driving with my mom somewhere near f7, i commented on how Islamabad wouldn't be Islamabad, had it not been for the serpentine traffic in the streets, dimly lit houses and cafes,
gentle, fresh breeze and the overall calm that envelops all signs of activity and buzz.Where your favourite coffee joint is not miles from your place, or your friend's place isn't all that remote afterall, you can relish a slow drive with favourite CD playing in the car or whizzing your ride from lane to lane.
Home's never faraway, the highways are never too noisy, the air doesnt smell of burning oil and your'e constantly in touch with nature. The land of gorgeous rains and thunder and vibrant green mountain tops.Being the small place it is,you get to be part of whatever social scene's happening around and that's the best part, the homey feel to it.It's still catching up with the rest of the country/world/whatever on many fronts,at it's own pace.
p.s: don't get me wrong,i love Karachi, intense as ever only in a different kinda spirit.
p.p.s:and Lahore,i like too.
p.p.p.s: but then again,nothing compares.
